Dr. Marisa Stones is the Director of ICT Policy & Innovation with the Government of Bermuda. She has led the development and implementation of Bermuda’s privacy legislation (the gdpr equivalent, PIPA) and cybersecurity. She has been a critical player in the advancement of Bermuda’s fintech sector and was recently invited to serve as a panellist at the 2018 OECD blockchain forum to discuss the intersection of cybersecurity and blockchain.
In her position she is responsible for
-Strategic and programme development of cybersecurity and data protection/privacy
– Encourages and advocates for the use of technology by youth, seniors, entrepreneurs, and professional users and makers of technology.
– Promotes the adoption of safe Internet practices for residents and businesses through the Cybertips initiative.
– Measures and reports on Bermuda’s digital economy.
– Advocates for and enables the innovative use and adoption of technologies, i.e. Fintech, Blockchain.
