Linda Dias, is a multi-award winning innovator and recipient of the prestigious 2013 Chevening Scholarship from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. In 2014, Linda became the first and only female to be appointed to the position of Chief Architect for the Government of Montserrat. As the principle technical advisor to the government on matters related to the built environment, she has lead on infrastructure projects such as the Development of a New Air Traffic Control Tower for the John A. Osborne Airport, the Emergency Social Housing Project, and the Hospital & Healthcare Improvement Project. After the onslaught of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017, Dias’s defense of regional building codes went viral in a Facebook post that was quoted by numerous media houses, including the BBC News.
Linda joined the Ministry of Finance & Economic Management in 2019 as the Deputy Head of the Programme Management Office, working alongside client ministries for the implementation of capital projects. In 2019, Linda formed the award-winning software company Bodio Inc. after winning local and regional pitch competitions. Bodio developed into an entertainment booking app, and within the first month of beta testing the mobile app saw a market presence in 15 countries worldwide, while venturing onto the radars of online tech magazines and regional media. Linda’s other company, Aeon Studios Ltd., an architectural and graphic design consultancy, has been recognized in Build.com’s 2019 Architecture Awards, and has seen artwork featured around the globe in countries like the UK, China, and Kenya.
Linda is also currently the 2020-21 President of the Rotary Club of Montserrat, sits on numerous project boards in the private sector, and has been featured in a number of regional publications and podcasts. She is also an avid cigar lover and is the founder of the Emerald Cigar Club, a pop-up cigar aficionado club in Montserrat. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, designing, and playing action and first-person-shooter video games.
