Felicia Persaud

As the founder and CEO of Invest Caribbean, Felicia J. Persaud, is both a progressive leader and a multi-faceted professional and advocate. Her career began in media where she worked as a journalist in print, radio, and television before launching the first digital daily newswire in the Caribbean Diaspora, Hard Beat News, which was later rebranded as CaribWorldNews, and today, News Americas News Network. Felicia’s passion for the Caribbean and its Diaspora led to her advocating for a way for Caribbean nationals in the US to be counted by the US Census and to noticing there was no official PR Wire for the Caribbean. So, she launched CaribPR Wire, which months after its formation, sealed a deal with the PR Newswire as the official wire service for all Caribbean content distribution.

From these beginnings, her passion for designing and developing impactful projects was born and she launched the advertising and digital agency, Hard Beat Communications, which works with numerous the Caribbean and US corporations. Felicia’s unique talent for seeing the bigger picture whilst simultaneously catching and solving the burgeoning problems others may miss, led to the launch of Invest Caribbean, – first as an investment conference with the Caribbean Tourism Organization, and today, as the global private sector investment agency for the Caribbean, matching developers with funders. She is constantly innovating and has proven lithe at moving with changing tides. Today, Felicia is actively pushing into the cannabis sector, while simultaneously balancing her continued advocacy on the US Census, immigration and the Caribbean Diaspora and the region, while maintaining a weekly column in the 100-year-old New York Amsterdam newspaper and a weekly radio slot on New York’s WRTN 93.5 FM radio.
